In
1998, at 25 years old, Marc Pinel falls in love with hiking.
Born in Saint-Damien-de Buckland (QC) and living in Québec
and Lévis for several years, he hikes mostly in Québec
and Chaudière-Appalaches area. In 2000, at the time
of three months stay in Gatineau (Outaouais), he walks on
some of the Parc de la Gatineau trails.
In 2002, he starts his own hiking club, LES BOTTINES SOURIANTES.
After a quiet start, he reorganise his club and recruit 30
new members in three months. In despite of BOTTINES SOURIANTES
success, he moves in Alberta because of his career and the
club is slowly broke up.
Living in Banff from august 2003 to october 2004, he enjoys
for the first time the hiking in the Rockies. In more than
a year, he walks about thirty trails, so 300 km.
After few months in Québec, he choose to go back in
Banff on May 2005 with the intention to live there. In May
2006, he starts a new club in Banff, GRAND
NATURE. In May 2007, he becomes a Standard/Apprentice
interpreters of MPHIA
(Moutain Park Heritage Interpretation Association).
